This privacy policy informs you which personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose this happens, and what rights you have in this regard.
Your rights
You have the following rights in relation to the controller: access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and objection to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by WORLD4YOU Internet Services GmbH, Hafenstraße 47-51, 4020 Linz, Austria. The server is located in Austria. The host processes the resulting data as a processor acting on my instructions.
When you access this website, data transmitted by your browser is automatically recorded in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, the previously visited page, as well as browser type and operating system. This processing is necessary for the technical operation and security of the website and is based on my legitimate interest in secure and trouble-free operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not combined with other data sources.
Cookies and consent
This website uses cookies. Technically necessary cookies are set so that the website functions – for example to store your language selection and your cookie choice. All other cookies are only set after you have given your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021).
I use the consent management tool CookieYes (CookieYes Limited, Ireland) to obtain and manage your consent. Your choice is stored in a cookie on your device. You can see which cookies are used in detail, including their purpose and storage duration, at any time in the consent dialogue: Open cookie settings. Further details are set out in my Cookie Policy.
Contacting me
If you write to me via the contact form or by e-mail, I process the data you submit – your name, your e-mail address and the content of your message – solely in order to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where your enquiry is aimed at entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
The form plugin used does not store your message in this website’s database. It is delivered exclusively by e-mail to my mailbox; delivery takes place via my host’s mail server (see the section “Hosting and server log files”). I retain your message for as long as is necessary to deal with your enquiry and delete it afterwards, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
The form is protected against automated submissions by Google reCAPTCHA. Details are set out in the following section.
Google reCAPTCHA
To protect the contact form against automated submissions, I use reCAPTCHA provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The service distinguishes whether an entry is made by a human or by a program. In doing so, your IP address and further data required for the service are transmitted to Google and evaluated there. Your IP address is truncated beforehand within the EU or the EEA; only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in protecting the form against misuse and spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Further information is available in Google’s privacy policy. The script is loaded as soon as the contact page is opened, not only when the form is submitted. reCAPTCHA is not used on any other page of this website.
YouTube
Some videos on this website are embedded from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). A video is only loaded after you have consented to the corresponding cookie category.
When a video is loaded, a connection to Google’s servers is established. Google thereby learns which page you have visited and receives your IP address – even if you do not have a Google account or are not logged in. If you are logged in to Google, Google may associate the request with your account. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time. Further information is available in Google’s privacy policy.
Vimeo
Some videos on this website are embedded from Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, New York, New York 10001, USA). The videos carry the “Do Not Track” parameter, which prevents Vimeo from tracking your behaviour by means of cookies.
When a video is loaded, a connection to Vimeo’s servers is nevertheless established. Vimeo thereby learns which page you have visited and receives your IP address – even if you do not have a Vimeo account. This data is transferred to the USA. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Further information is available in Vimeo’s privacy policy.
Data transfers to the USA
Personal data may be transferred to the USA in connection with the services named above. By decision of 10 July 2023, the European Commission determined that companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework provide an adequate level of data protection. Google LLC is certified under this framework. Where a provider is not certified, the transfer is based on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Despite these safeguards, access to transferred data by US authorities cannot be entirely ruled out. If you wish to avoid this, simply do not give your consent for the content concerned – the website can be used without it.
